Role: The Learned One is a deity of knowledge and intelligent reasoning. All knowledge is important, and Monlotos is devoted to its preservation and dissemination, and to the retrieval of lost knowledge.
Monlotos is the son of Jasamai and Zandaron. He inherited none of his parents' lawful or goodly tendencies but, differences aside, Monlotos shares many of his mother's interests. He is on good terms with Delundar, Felicityn, Syrtolyn, and Viest.
The Learned One's most common visage is as an old, wizened man clad in white robes. He also appears as a gray-bearded dwarf of advancing years, with a piercing gaze and a greatly chewed, unlit pipe. Common titles for Monlotos are the Learned One, Teacher of the Gods, and Father of Reasoning.
Monlotos' priests mainly dwell in cities, and many serve as teachers in schools and universities. Though reluctant to leave their temples and institutes of learning, the prospect of discovering lost knowledge will draw out even the most unwilling of the clergy.
Temples of the Learned One are usually found in large towns and cities, located near schools, libraries, and universities. Remote monasteries are also dedicated to Monlotos, and these sanctuaries contain consecrated shrines.
