Session Number Two

January 3, 2005

In the aftermath on the beachhead at Fogly, the company regrouped. They bound each other’s wounds and searched through the orc’s possessions. They searched the dragon turtle ship, and determined that it was constructed from an actual dragon turtle’s shell. They found the dilapidated chest in which the orcs kept their loot.

Jacob’s charm over the halfling, Grundy, wore off. The company bound the halfling, and interrogated him. Grundy claimed that he was a victim of the orcs, just like them. He said that he had been captured by the orcs and forced to work for them. His job was to travel from town to town, spreading word of the “terrible dragon turtle” in advance of the orcs assault. He begged the company to have mercy upon him.

The company turned Grundy over to Jonathan Peterson, the council chief of Fogly. The authorities placed Grundy in their local jail, took depositions of the party members, and assured them that Grundy’s case would be handled appropriately.

At the request of the authorities, the company dragged the dragon turtle ship into town. There was a bit of ceremony where the townspeople expressed their gratitude, and then the company departed.

The company rested at the Wild Rose Inn, and then set off back to Fishside. On the road they were attacked by a giant insect which sprang from beneath the ground. The beast grabbed Caitlyn in its huge maw, picked her up off of her feet, and retreated towards its den. The company killed the beast before it quite managed to bite Caitlyn in half. They noted some nearby tunnels, and returned to Fishside.

After recovering a bit from the battle with the bug, the company returned to the tunnels, determined to explore them.
