Session Number Three

January 24, 2005

Inside the insects’ tunnels, the company battled two giant acid spitting beetles. When the bugs were dead, the company discovered a nest of many eggs. The party used their torches to burn the eggs, and then ventured deeper.

The company came across two old elven corpses, both male. Berwyn, drawing on his priestly knowledge of death, estimated that the bodies had been dead for 200 to 300 years.

On one body, the company found a kukri, some unfamiliar coins, and a sinister looking medallion depicting something akin to a prawn.

On the second body, the company found a longsword, and a quiver with fifteen arrows, but no bow.

Next to the cave wall, the party found a longspear, a leather folio, and a scroll case.

All of the weapons appeared to be exceptional, and of exotic make. Not dwarven, and not like the weapons made by elves native to this region. The kukri in particular looked like it might be related to an elven culture located to the south east of the great southern desert.

The tunnels continued to deeper, but the company elected to quit while they were ahead and turn back to Fishside. Back in town, they determined that the kukri and longspear were masterworks, and that the arrows and longsword were magical.

Seneca took the kukri and arrows. Caitlyn tried to get Cassius to take the longspear, but he declined. Caitlyn took the longsword and the longspear. Awakened by the detect magic spell, the longsword revealed a special property; it glowed like a torch whenever it was wielded.

Back in Fishside, the Company was hired to do an errand for the Church of Burthaggid. They were to travel to the town of Bellhold, in order to pick up bells which had been commissioned for the local temple. The party set off on a horse drawn cart.

After some uneventful travelling, the party approached Bellhold. In the distance, they saw a man calling out to two horses that were not fenced in. The man appeared to be approaching the horses cautiously.
