Role:

Syrtolyn is the teacher of civilizations and the promoter of education. Together with her brother Montolos, they are the pantheon's strongest powers of illumination and enlightenment. More than her brother however, Syrtolyn remains focused upon the improvement of civilized societies,, and in this aspect is not whooly unlike Lhuramni the Protector. Syrtolyn is seen as a nurturing mother, and this is evident in her visages. She is kind and happy, slow to anger, and quick to praise efforts and bolster low spirits.

The Scholar is the daughter of Jesamai and Zandaron. Syrtolyn is on good terms with Delundar, Whogam, and both of her parents. She is close to her brother Montolos, and though they have their differences, the two share many mutual interests.

Common titles for Syrtolyn are the Scholar, the Teacher, Mother of Civilization, and Lady of Education.

Syrtolyn's priests are teachers. The Scholar tasks her clergy to promote education throughout the land. Priests of Syrtolyn can be found in many nations, helping to develop townships, opening schools in small communities, encouraging followers to become teachers themselves, and always preaching the word of Syrtolyn.

Temples of the Scholar are almost always found in or near settlements. They frequently serve as institutes of learning, and are often close to schools,, libraries, and universities. Syrtolyn's temples are obvious and well advertised, and her priests will usually be found outside the temples, beckoning to passerby to hear the words of the Scholar.
