Role:

Ul'ty is a powerful influence of evil amongst the greater deities. She pulls the world away from the warming rays of the sun, and works with her sister Isbri to bring the snow and ice of winter.

Ul'ty is the daughter of Sethanit and Kaichea, and is the sister of Isbri, Ankaris, and Zandaron. She has three children: Huthunic, son of Ankaris, Alchenda, daughter of Burthaggid, and Eteris, daughter of Gadaru. Ul'ty has little association with her parents but is fond of Burthaggid and Gadaru. She is close to her sister Isbri and they have conspired against their brothers on many occasions.

Ul'ty prefers to appear as a visible blast of billowing cold air that freezes whatever it contacts. When Ul'ty last assumed humanoid shape, she emered from her frozen mountain in a great blast that tore away part of the glacial layer. The resulting ice cloud thickened to become a great giant of ice. In this form, Ul'ty carried a great spear hewn from the blue ice of the arctic, bound with gold and feathers by her sister Isbri. It is the spear and icy mountain of Ul'ty that are depicted upon her holy symbol. Commmon titles for Ul'ty are the Cold One, Lady of Winter, and Mother of Water.

Ul'ty's clergy shun the seasons of growth and greenery. They favor high latitudes where the winter months consume a greater portion of the year, and they are rarely found in near-tropical environments. In a perverse application of logic, Ul'ty's clergy are quick to point out the benefits of Ul'ty's influence of cold, with the reasoning that organic materials will not decay when kept frozen. Their philosophies teach that when the body is frozen, it is the one true means of ensuring one's own immortality.

Temples dedicated to the Cold One are rarely found in towns or cities. Ul'ty's great churches are located in remote, isolated areas of extreme cold. The few temples located in settlements are hidden in all but completely evil societies.
