Role: Vendaneran the Wise is the good power of the five elder deities. He gifted the races with written and spoken languages, and he promotes enlightenment and goodwill. The Wise one is a patron of scholars and warriors alike, and is an excellent tactitian..
Vendaneran is the father of Jasamai and Zandaron, born to Chulatae, and of Lhuramni, born to Kaichea. When Kaichea bore Vendaneran's child, the jealous Olhantam retaliated: Vendaneran once knew the fate of all mortals, but in his anger, Olhantam withdrew the power.
To his clergy and followers, Vendaneran appears as a middle-aged male of their respective race. He is soft-spoken, with great patience and a kind heart. He usually wears gray robes and carries a quarterstaff, but in battle he dons full plate armor and weilds a war hammer. Common titles for Vendaneran are the Wise One, Sage of the Gods, and Guardian of Knowledge.
Vendaneran's priests seek knowledge both for their own self-fulfillment and for the benefit of all. They strive to thwart the followers of Sethanit, for they are convinced that Sethanit's evil will dooms the world. Vendaneran's clergy seek reasonable solutions to conflicts when possible, and resort to combat when required. They are insightful organizers, looking to the future and planning accordingly, and they work to resolve potential problems before they arise.
Vendaneran's larger temples are usually located in towns and cities. Libraries and universities are appropriate surroundings for the Wise One's temples, though his chapels are often found in remote monasteries.
