- Stephen Cohen, head of the Brookings Institution's South Asia programme. A visiting research scholar at the Brookings Institution, Ejaz Haider, was accosted by U.S. Government agents and taken into custody in January 2003. Haider is news editor of the Pakistani newsweekly Friday Times and newspaper Daily Times.
