Here's the test fit of the gear drive - notice the hole in the block above the cam gear that had the water pump drive gear bearing. It's easy to get out by hitting it from the lifter valley side with a hammer. Another thing I had to leave out was the locking plate for the cam gear bolts - it would have interfered with the OptiSpark which needs to go in that center hole. I used loctite red on the bolts instead. I think if I had it to do over (hope I don't have to) I'd put some grade-8 lockwashers on as well. By the way, this is the "SB Chevy Factory Roller Cam (exc. LT1)" model P/N 350-91C. The reason it says "exc. LT1" is for the reasons I'm mentioning here. |
