Ready to go back in the car. Notice the EGR tube going into the intake. That thing gets REALLY HOT so make sure you keep all the wires away from it (I burned some of mine). This reminds me of one other thing, the coolant crossover pipe on the back of the heads uses banjo bolts and these rubber washers with metal rings. Don't loose or rip the washers! GM wants about $7 for each one (there are 4 required). I screwed mine up a little but didn't want to pay for new ones. They haven't leaked so far ... Another thing - make sure you label your motor mounts when you remove them from the block. They look identical and I couldn't find any markings on mine so I assumed they were identical ... wrong! It took a while to figure out why the motor wouldn't line up the first time; as with this whole project - live and learn. |
