Pulling the motor

Here's the motor on the hoist coming out.  I really could have made things a lot easier for myself if I'd gotten a load leveler.  It can obviously be done without one, but it would have saved a lot of time and hassle.  Also, drain your oil before pulling the motor - I learned that one the hard way after dumping 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and about 2 gallons of DexCool on the shop floor.  One of the most difficult things is getting the trans separated from the motor.  Just make sure you mark the positon of the flexplate relative to the torque converter before you take it apart.  A really long (3-4') extention with a universal joint is about the only way to get to all 6 of the bellhousing bolts.
