Man! That is one pretty motor! I put the heads back on with the ARP bolts and Fel-Pro PermaTourque head gaskets. The instructions that came with the ARP bolts said to disregard the factory torque specs and use theirs. That was confusing though since it said to use one set of specs with ARP moly lube and another with 30WT motor oil. The only problem is that most of the bolts go into the water jacket and need sealant, so I used Permatex Blue and torqued them in two steps first to 50 ft-lbs and then to 85 ft-lbs (I didn't just guess - this was Criss' Machine's recommendation). |
