| Here's another thing that I screwed up. My Haynes manual said to adjust the rockers "1/2 to 1 turn" past zero lash, so I decided that I'd be a tough guy and put them down at 1/2 to keep them from pumping up at high RPM. The instructions with the Hot Cam kit said to use 3/4 turn. Anyway, long story short, it was noisy as hell when I started it up, so I had to go back and re-adjust the lash in the car. It was still pretty noisy, but I emailed Pat Flavin who runs the same setup in his Caprice and he confirmed that it's just a noisy setup. Mine is made even more so beacuse of the gear drive. |
