Tips on AutoMeter Gage and Pillar Pod Install

A couple of notes about the gage install -
     - Voltmeter: simple and self explanatory
     - Oil pressure: buy a "T" fitting and you can still keep your idiot light functional
     - Oil temp: this is the one that made my two hour install into an all day ordeal.  I didn't really consider when I ordered the gages where I'd put the oil temp sender.  The ideal place is in the oil pan, but that would require removing the pan and welding a bung in there to install the sender.  The cool thing I found is that the oil cooler adapter already has a spot for it built in!  All you have to do is take out the pipe plug that it comes with and install the included adapter.  Piece of cake!  Or at least it should have been ...
What did I do?  I always have to give fasteners that extra 1/8th turn just to make sure they're tight, and guess what?  CRACK!  That adapter is just made of that cheap "pot metal" crap and I put a giant crack down it by over tightening.  So ... don't do that - a new one is expensive (~$100) and hard to find.  I managed to rig mine up for the time being, but I think it still has a slow leak so I may need to buy a new one.
