Regional #3 was a tough
race again with Harry since he was getting more adapted to his
car setup. The weather was sunny and hot, excellent for RWD
again. Terence just got his new set of BFG R1 heat-cycled and
turned very respectable times. By the end of everybody's last run
of the day except me who grided almost last in the queue, Harry
got a very fast 36.667s while I stayed close at high 37. And even
Terence was also faster than me and stayed at 2nd place closely
following Harry. It seemed like my 2 year old 185 Hankooks would
not be able to compete with Harry anymore. Could Terence
eventually be able to beat me?
There was so much pressure on me that my adrenalin rushed like my heart was going to pop out when I was waiting at the starting line. The adrenalin rush must have helped my performance a lot. My arms seemed to be able to respond faster. My body seemed to be able to detect the slightest sign of drifting. It just felt like everything was in slow motion. I was able to full-throttle through some slaloms where it had seemed impossible. The wide open 180 degree sweeper was definitely faster than before. I could not believe I shaved more than a second over my previous runs, bringing me up to second place and right behind Harry by 0.1 second. Since then, I really really wanted a set of BFG R1s to compete with Harry.
