Final 2006 Season Stats
For the second straight season, the TBL had it's most successful season.  A record number of players showed up each week, and a record number of games were played - over 30, including frequent doubleheaders/
Offensive records were broken across the board by Rob "Jeter" Quinn, who was named League MVP and Offensive MVP.  Rob finished the season with the Triple Crown, batting 0.720 with 20 home runs and 104 RBI's.  He also hit a record 35 doubles, 171 total bases and won 20 games.
The pitching was dominated by Cy Young winner Adam "Genetic Freak" Krakowski as he struck out 19 batters over 85.2 innings, including the league's first ever Golden Sombrero against Al Levine, who was mired in a season-long slump.  He won 7 games, tied for most with Rich Seibert, but only lost 3.  Seibert set a record for innings pitched with 104.1.
This year's Rookie of the Year was given to Steve "Nash" Flanagan, who burst onto the scene and hit 0.534 with 9 home runs and 54 RBI's.  Rich "Diesel" Seibert won the first ever Most Improved award, pulling his numbers up to 0.571, 4 home runs and 68 RBI's.
Sportsman of the Year went to Al Levine, who kept his positive attitude and effort at maximum despite the slump and persistent heckling.  Athlete of the Year, given to the best athlete in all sports in the TBL, was given to Matt "Swa" Healy, an unstoppable force in any sport.
The second annual home run derby was taken by "Wild" Bill Burns, defeating Steve Flanagan in 3 rounds.
The annual interleague series between Fox Valley and K-Town Park was split 1-1, with Fox Valley narrowly taking the first game 17-16 thanks to John Tripodi's walk-off sac fly.  The second game was not so kind to Fox Valley, as they were hammered 28-6.  Next season, 4 games will be scheduled to increase the rivaly even further.
After such a successful season, everyone may wonder what can be done to top this?  Stay tuned...
