| Scoring 9 runs in the 7th and 8th innings combined, Team M Ricotta came from behind to upset Team D Ricotta 16-14 today. A small 5-on-5 game usually breeds a high scoring affair, and this was no different. The teams combined for 49 hits, 24 of them for extra bases. Team M Ricotta, led by the fastest man in TBL history, had only 1 player below 5 hits (Lina) but she got the hits in the clutch; her 4 RBI's trailed only John "The Gardener" Ubanowski's 5. Ricotta went 6-9 out of the leadoff spot, and MVP frontrunner Josh Hyman went 7-8 with 3 RBI's to raise his average to an insane 0.818 on the year. Team D Ricotta presented a well-balanced team of power and speed. Making his season debut, Dan Ricotta went 5-9 and scored 5 runs, thanks to Sean Bhupathi hitting behind him. The big lefty went 5-7 with 5 RBI's. Fellow rookie Antonio Fraccaroli also had a great day, 6-8 at the plate to increase his standings in the Rookie of the Year competition. Rounding out the team were Chris Russo and Erica Delfino, going 8-17 with 5 RBI's between them. |
