Lee Radek

LEE RADEK was the 10th man on his high school 10 man golf team.  The experience caused him to give the game up for 20 years.  A former semi-important mid-level government official, Lee now finds himself with an abundance of time to spend on the links.  His primary contribution to the Devitt Open is authorship of the informal tournament motto:  "No Strokes".

Jill Radek

As the MIT (Matriarch In Training) Jill tries her best to see that proper decorum is maintained both on and off the course at the Open. Unfortunately the burden of these duties prevents her from focusing her attention on her golf game, thus explaining her failure to capture the trophy as of yet. She sincerely hopes that her siblings' behavior will improve and that this heavy mantle will be lifted from her so that she too can bask in the honor and glory of being the Devitt champion.

Mike Devitt

Robert Michael Devitt Jr., affectionately known as MIKE by his friends and family, including his 3 grandchildren, KILEY, OWEN and TRUMAN, was born in Washington D.C. on March 20, 1940 , the second of the Devitt cousins.    MIKE is married to Mary Jo Calonico Devitt and they will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversity on August 10 of this year. Mary Jo and MIKE  have 4 children: James of Larchmont,New York, Andrea of San Luis Obispo, Ca., Gregory of San Francisco and Carolyn of Seattle.

MIKE's golfing career began at the early age of 10 at the Muni. courses in Long Beach, Ca. The highlight of his career was in the mid-70s. MIKE was playing a Muni course in Long Beach with his brother, Dennis-the standard bet was $5.00 for birdies and $20.00 for eagles. Well, Mike unleashed a 300 yd. drive ; his second shot( a 6 iron) landed on the green 35 feet from the pin. MIKE was faced with a severe down hill putt. As the ball twisted and turned toward the hole, a look of consternation overcame Dennis as the ball gently fell to the bottom of the hole for MIKE's only eagle of his career. MIKE is a past and still reining champion of the Loren Robert's tourney in San Luis Obispo. MIKE as well as his brother, Dennis, are past champions of the annual Bishop's tourney held at Carmel, Ca.

MIKE's initial appearance at THE DEVITT OPEN  was, from a golf standpoint, a disappointment. Word this year, however, is MIKE is bringing his A game. And, even if he doesn't, he is looking forward to seeing everybody again.

Matt Radek

Self-appointed webmaster/Dr. Frankenstein of The Devitt Open Online, Matt looks forward to returning to his second Open.  Winner of the "Best Shot" trophy last year, Matt has aspirations to carry on the legacy of Radek dominance at the Open, but has not had as much time to golf as he would like over the past few months due to excessive business travel and inclement weather.

Megan Radek

After years of defying genetics and socialization by her steadfast determination to avoid law school at any cost, Megan has moved on to eschew yet another family tradition – golf.   As the only attendee unable to distinguish a putter from a 5-iron, her past Devitt open contributions have included cheerleading, drink-mixing, co-designing the Handicapped Devitt Open trophy, and mocking her favorite uncles, “T-boy” and “Buttdarts.”   Along with her brother, Megan strives to continue the Devitt tradition of drunken sibling phone calls at obscene hours of the night (and morning).
