A Personal Profile of Swami
Radhamadhavananda Saraswati,
Disciple of
HH Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati Ji Maharaj
President Of
The Divine Life Society
RISHIKESH, UTTARANCHAL, HIMALAYAS, INDIA
As a Sannyasin I do not wish to go into my mundane
background. Suffice to say that I retired from a successful engineering business in Canada.
My spiritual interest started with Iskcon in the early
eighties when I took out a life membership of the International Society for
Krishna Consciousness. From thereon my life-style changed. I
started spending my vacation periods visiting Iskcon temples around the globe.
As a result I visited a number of Iskcon temples in Canada, America,
Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Ireland and of course India.
I was introduced to
Vedanta
when I happened to attend a series of four lectures on the "Introduction to
Vedanta" at the McMaster University in
Hamilton, Ontario, delivered by HH Shri Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Chinmaya Mission then. Thereafter, I attended a number of spiritual camps and discourses of HH Shri Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati and others organized by Chinmaya Mission. From 1993-96 I stayed at the Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Bombay and attended a full-time residential course on Vedanta.
By the
Grace of the Lord Almighty, in January
1997, I landed in Rishikesh, where I continued my Vedanta studies under
various teachers, ever since.
On July 20th, 1997, on the Guru-Purnima day
I was
initiated into the
Holy Order
of Sannyasa by
HH Pujya
Shri Swami Chidananda Saraswati ji Maharaj,
President
of The Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, Himalayas, India.
