Loneliness

So I sit back
and let my thoughts take control
The clock takes time
and pain away
It happened the way it should
and not the way I wanted
But all is not lost
and in time I will move on
For now the pain presides
while embarrassment thrives
and the cause is lost
but I am not
The clock will heal my wounds
as it steals the hours away
Now I must continue
this endless search through time
despite the lonliness which overwhelms
My life must now be lived
