Not Yet Right
But I need something more. Something
that’s forever; someone who will stay.
This is not about you, your beauty is enough.
As crude
as 'gorgeous' is, you are. Your body
beckons my attention; rewards my gaze.
Upon refinement, the word for you is 'beautiful.'
Your form captures me, your gorgeous face
draws me to you. Your deep dark eyes
let not mine escape as your lips, your smile
intoxicate me with sweet and sour desire.
And such atomization could last all day,
a thousand times like words I’ve offered
and a million more this heart will give,
but for what? to objectify you?
Objects pass, they don’t last; they don’t stay.
I need someone who will stay with me.
The issue’s in myself, but not for lacking love.
You might compliment, you may genuinely care.
And these you’ll always find that I do share.
My love is like a river or a rose, the sun
or the moon, whichever is your pleasure.
And pleasure you will know, both intimate
and intellectual; physical and emotional.
You’ll see it will sweep you off your feet.
But with you I am all but complete, and it’s
that shortcoming, as slight as it seems, which
prevents a love undying; ensures an end.
So if you’ll not be my forever one, then
be not delay in my search for her: that
forever love; that someone who will stay. |
