Car: 1986, MkI, Super White
Mileage:
160,000+ miles
I sold the MR2 (to some very nice MR2 people) on July 17th, 2001 so I could focus my time and money on my other vehicles. I bought my MR2 at the end of 1994 and it was my daily driver for 5 years until I bought an Integra (which I've since sold). Then, it became a "fun" weekend car. When I was in college I used
it to commute to and from Santa Clara University, as well as my various
jobs. I had put a lot of time, effort,
and money into making it go faster, handle better, and look cooler.
Many
of the modifications are standard-issue items, but some nice
custom-made pieces are what makes the car unique. I do consulting for D&R
Precision Machining, so I used the resources there to fabricate my own
rear strut bar out of 6061-T6 aluminum which I later had hard-anodized.
Here is the list of mods:
Suspension Techniques springs (1.3" drop)
Tokico HP shocks
Suspension Techniques adjustable sway bars (f/r)
