| Richard Hatch was born on May 21, 1946. He grew up in Santa Monica where he got into acting to overcome intense shyness. Eventually he fell in love with the theatre and joined a theatre group. He got his first big break in New York, winning a leading part in "All my Children" in 1969. Later he returned to L.A. where he replaced Michael Douglas in "The Streets of San Francisco." However, most of you will know Richard as Capt. Apollo in the series Battlestar Galactica. Richard was then, and is now, a big sci-fi fan. He aims at giving the audience not only eye candy ( i.e special effects) but a great plot line and believable characters as well. Therefore I think all of us should be looking forward to his current projects, namely, the revival of Battlestar and the "Great War of Magellan." When not acting/directing, Richard conducts workshops on communication and personal fufillment (for more info check out his website). As for family life, Richard is single. He has one son, Paul. FUNFACTS: Richard is left-handed, loves music (he plays guitar and sings) and has a habit of breaking props (hehehe). AWARDS: -Nomination for the Joseph Jefferson Award for his role in "P.W. Your Cat Is Dead!" -Germany's Bravo Award for Battlestar Galactica. -Nomination for the Golden Globe for Battlestar Galactica. |

| For several years, Richard has championed Battlestar Galactica. In a recent interview Richard said, "Battlestar Galactica was the first time I was involved in a project that said something to me, that spoke to my heart." He applauds director Bryan Singer (X-Men) and partner/ producer Tom DeSanto on their effort to return Galactica to Fox in 2002. Let's hope Richard will return as well. | |||||||||||||||||

| Richard Hatch has just released the newest part of his excellent Battlestar Galactica trilogy, Battlestar Galactica: Resurrection. Said by readers to be the best of the three novels, Resurrection brings the characters, the fight, the mythology that is Galactica all together under one cover. The first two novels, Battlestar Galactica: Armageddon and Battlestar Galactica: Warhawk are also a must read! | |||||||||||||||||
