Sci-Fi movie buffs can all recognize the many faces of the space saga known as StarWars. Created by writer, director, producer, George Lucas, Star Wars has become a flim phenomena.  The plot is comprised of the most simple story of the damsel in distress and the knight who rescues her.  There are the good guys and the bad guys. 
Star Wars begins in the middle of what is suposed to be an long story.  An evil Emperor has taken control of a galaxy where the inhabitants (not all humanoid) would rather be free.  A rebellion has begun and the fight is on. A young farm boy is told that all in his life is not what it seems.  That he has been left with a legacy......he has "The Force"  and is heir to a laser sword and the title of Jedi Knight. 
Along with his mentor, Obi Wan, Luke Skywalker begins an adventure to save a princess from a black knight called Darth Vader. 
This saga has introduced such unforgetable characters as Chewbaca, a Wookie and friend to Han Solo, a rogue and a rascal (also a hunk played by the young Harrison Ford).  The Ewoks, Jaba the Hut and his pack of merry aliens, the Jedi Master, Yoda (a creation of Jim Henson and Frank Oz) and scores of other interesting individuals.
Luke follows the "Force" through three episodes of the storyline......and then there is Episode I.
We meet some very young old friends along with a new nemisus....Darth Mall.  He is a juicey bad guy...(.but not as rotten as Vader.)
Dark against light, Star Wars has ranked at the top of the sci-fi film heep since the first movie in the late 70s.  Its success has made it possible for more fabulous sci-fi films to be made.
The newest episode is in the making.....Stars such as Jimmy Smitts and acting legend Christopher Lee head a great cast.  It is being filmed in Australia and is due out next year. 
Although there will be new characters (and interesting creatures) in the newest films, we shall always remember Luke, Leiha, Han, and Chewie (the walking carpet).  They will be forever etched in the minds of not only exclusive Star Wars fans, but sci-fi movie goers everywhere!
If you want an afternoon of great entertainment and adventure....rent, purchase, watch the saga known as Star Wars.
