Lelos kept hopes alive

Lelos of Georgia defeated new boys, Czech Republic by
30-15 on Saturday, 22 March at Tatry Smichov Ground
in Prague and kept their chances of recapturing the
ENC Cup alive. For this to happen, firstly Russia
should beat Portugal on Saturday, then Georgia defeat
Romania on Sunday and better the Lobos on points
difference

Due to 11th hour withdrawals and visa problems GEO
travelled to the Central European state with just
20-strong squad of which only eight were qualified
backs but another two forwards could play behind
scrum. The party was accompanied by GRU President, Mr
Bidzina Gueguidze who even pledged to don the wine
jersey in emergency

GEO scored five tries whilst CZR was restricted to
five goals (one of them dropped). The visitors could
not amass that amount of points they hoped for and as
a result, still lag behind the leaders, Portugal by 9

Lelos arrived late on Modnay to their Capital. They
will be camped in nearby holy town of Mtskheta.
Romania plan to fly in on Friday. The Oaks will
bring Antim Cup back to Tbilissi where they had won
it in inaugural clash, last April
