23 CM Coilspring  (9")
Here is a 9" coilspring in it's parts.  The rocker arm style button release mechanism is the same as all of the 50's picklocks, as is the safety.  The coilspring fits in the milled out area of the blade and there is a small hole that goes toward the point of the blade that the end of the spring goes up into.  This one needed everything.  It needed cleaning , the coilspring was broke, the hole in the liner was worn so the point of the blade was sticking out of the knife.  Rob Davidson of Rocket Knives duplicated the coilspring perfectly from a drawing I sent him.  I soldered a small piece of brass over the worn liner pin hole that pushed the locking pin back in place.  ( This is ala "Reese Torrit" from The Newsletter)  It is a great way to repair this problem , as now the entire rocker is against the brass piece and is not likely to wear again.  The other end of the spring goes up through the large hole in the bottom liner and that end basically just floats between the liner and the bolster
Here is the restored knife.  The scan doesn't show it , but everything is shining like new, and you can see your reflection in the liners.  There is only so much that can be done when the blade has been butchered. I elected to not take anymore down trying to duplicate the original shape.
