At the picnic tables, Corrine is trying to set a time to see Marshall. She recites her free time to him as she reviews her PDA. Marshall uncomfortably tries to read his book while listening to her. He agrees to her dates but seems like he is being forced into accepting so she doesn’t get angry. Peering over at the PDA, Marshall reads a reminder to feed the Venus Flytrap. He asks when it had its last fly to which Corrine responds that the last feeding was last week, as if it is no big deal. Marshall comments that it must be starving. This annoys Corrine and she walks off to feed the Venus Flytrap. She has, however, left the jar of dead flies on the table. Annoyed, Marshall picks them up and goes to catch up with Corrine.

“Fine, I’ll go feed it since you don’t want to schedule time with me.” – Corrine to Marshall

At about the same time, Josie and Lucas are exiting the school. Lucas is telling Josie that he is positive that Victor is a threat. He says that Victor could bug the school or even employ agents to spy on them and that Vaughn could be one of them, commenting about what should make them trust Vaughn. Sitting at the picnic table, Josie seems to be entertaining his ideas in her head but then appears to ignore him after seeing Vaughn talking to Stu on another picnic table out farther from the school.

“Victor knows we know more than he does. He could take one of us hostage and give us a truth serum.” – Lucas to Josie.

In the science room, Corrine talks to the Venus Flytrap. She tells it that if Marshall likes her, he should want to spend time with her. She asks it if she did something to make Marshall unhappy or perhaps is she not pretty enough. Marshall walks in and places the jar of flies by the Venus Flytrap. The Venus Flytrap seems to lean towards the flies at that time, not noticed by Corrine and Marshall. Corrine asks Marshall if he wants to spend time with her. He says that he wants to have time with her, not schedule time with her and that it feels like work. Corrine takes that very negatively, interpreting it as being with her is like work. Marshall, already uncomfortable, denies her interpretation but Corrine asks what is their relationship to him. Marshall fails to give a satisfactory answer and Corrine walks out.
Sitting on the stool, Marshall feeds the Venus Flytrap. He tells it that girls are complicated and that plants are simple. While putting the fly in the Venus Flytrap’s mouth, the mouth swiftly closes and the hair on the petal pricks his thumb. Disappointed, Marshall walks out. Electrical energy flows into the pot and the Venus Flytrap. The camera zooms off to a view of the wall where a shadow of the Venus Flytrap is cast. The shadow morphs into a human form and walks off. The camera zooms back to the Venus Flytrap’s tipped over pot, which now contains just spilled soil.

“Marshall, what are we to you?” - Corrine to Marshall
“I don’t know. What are we to you?” – Marshall to Corrine.

At lunch, Corrine talks to Josie, upset that Marshall can’t commit and sounding like their relationship is over. Josie tells Corrine that Corrine can now focus more on her Venus Flytrap but Corrine informs Josie that it is missing. At the door, a girl walks into the cafeteria. Everyone’s attention gets drawn to her entrance. The girl, with blond hair, sloppy tie, and half of her shirt not tucked in, walks down the aisle between the tables. Stu, sitting with Vaughn, removes the napkin that he is using as a bib. A girl that Tyler was talking to, at the table opposite Vaughn’s and Stu’s, can’t get back Tyler’s attention as it is now focused on the new girl. She proceeds to the far table on the window side where Lucas and Marshall are sitting. Marshall sees her coming and can’t seem to stop staring at her (with his jaw dropped) and put his attention back on his book about Nitrogen. Touching his arm and swinging around his chair, she sits next to Marshall, stunning the cafeteria’s occupants. She immediately impresses Marshall with her knowledge, telling him that Nitrogen Tri-Iodide will explode if touched by a feather. Lucas finds this slightly amusing. The girl points to Marshall’s burger, asking if he is going to be eating it. Marshall, without delay, relinquishes the plate to the girl who takes a large bite out of the burger and follows with a burp. Lucas and Marshall find this humorous. Corrine and Josie, at the next table, don’t find this very entertaining. On Marshall’s arm, there is a small burn area.

“Nitrogen Tri-iodine. My favorite covalent molecule.” – The new girl to Marshall.

“She’s sitting with Wheeler?” – Stu to Vaughn.
“She must be new.” – Josie to Corrine

In Science, Corrine is presenting her presentation on the Venus Flytrap. The new girl rushes in and corrects Corrine’s last line. Professor Z asks who she is. She tells him that her name is Diana Music and that she is new. She proceeds by sitting down next to Marshall. Professor Z is a bit surprised by her action, not ready for it. He tells her that he will get her transfer papers later and tells Corrine to continue. Corrine is frustrated and all the boys’ attentions are now on Diana. Corrine continues but is interrupted by Diana again, adding to Corrine’s information by saying that the seal created by the Venus Flytrap’s leaves is air tight to keep out bacteria. Marshall, who is smiling at Diana, asks why it is that way. She informs the class that bacteria can kill the plant. Professor Z has the class return their attention to Corrine. After Corrine states that the origin of the name “Venus Flytrap” is unknown, Diana interrupts again, saying that it is named after Venus, the goddess of love, and turns to glance at Marshall. Tyler and Stu are staring at Diana as well but are ignored by her. The girl Tyler was talking to in the cafeteria is annoyed with Tyler’s attention to Diana.

“Oh yeah, those microbes can be deadly.” – Marshall.

Later in the day, outside, Diana is reading, sitting on a wooden picnic table, while Vaughn and Stu are throwing a baseball around. Vaughn becomes distracted by Diana, who smiles back at him, and begins to walk to her when Marshall and Lucas, with baseball mitts, run up and call for Vaughn to throw the ball; Stu is now busy watching Diana. Vaughn complies but Marshall, who appears to be the intended target, misses the ball. It bounces off his mitt. Marshall retrieves the ball, which has rolled close to Diana. They exchange smiles and Marshall returns to where he was, next to Lucas, tossing the ball to Lucas. Lucas throws the ball at Stu but Stu is not paying any attention to what is going on. The ball hits him directly on the left side of his head. After a split second delay of reaction, Stu sharply looks over at Marshall and Lucas, insulting them for Lucas’s throw. Stu throws the ball to Vaughn who runs to where Lucas and Marshall are. He’s going to throw it to Stu, who is moving in the direction of the ball's perceived direction. Vaughn throws but it is out of Stu’s range and is heading towards Diana. Vaughn tries to warn her but Diana swiftly catches the ball above her head, with her bare hand. Stu and Vaughn wander to her in amazement. Diana, standing up, hands the ball back to Vaughn. She also touches his wrist before walking off. On Vaughn’s wrist, as well as Lucas’s, Marshall’s, and Stu’s arms is a thin, clear “slime” residue. All of the boys follow Diana as she walks back into the school. To Marshall, Diana tells him that they should do something together. Marshall offers that they could see a movie and Diana accepts.

“Why do you two even have bodies? You should just be big brains sitting on a stick.” – Stu.

Meanwhile, from the patio, Corrine watches the scene with Josie and two cheerleaders. The girl who Tyler was talking to, in the cafeteria, who apparently is a cheerleader, is sulking about how every girl’s boyfriend’s attention is on Diana. Corrine denies Marshall being her boyfriend. Josie tells them that they shouldn’t be jealous and that the boys are just making idiots of themselves. Corrine seems to be having conflict with herself though. She tells Josie that Diana will find out that Marshall is unable to commit.
Corrine walks upstairs and passes Diana’s room. On Diana’s door are multiple notes, they practically cover the door itself, from many of the boys in the school. Corrine happens to see a note left by Marshall which makes her angry. Knocking on the door, the door becomes ajar and Corrine is able to feel heat coming from the room, which is odd. Walking in, looking for Diana, Corrine wanders around the room. She observes that the room is very warm and that Diana also has no clothes in her drawer, there is a pungent scent in the air, and there are flies in her desk drawer. Diana walks in, startling Corrine. Corrine tells Diana that she is wasting her time with Marshall because Marshall can’t commit. Diana replies that he just can’t commit to Corrine. Diana tells Corrine to leave and slams the door after Corrine’s exit. Corrine, however, peers back into the room a few seconds later. She observes Diana eating the flies that are in the room.

“I don’t know how you did it but you trapped him somehow.” – Corrine to Diana.

Corrine talks to Josie and Professor Z as they walk into the science room. Josie dismisses Corrine’s ramblings as jealousy, however. Corrine believes that Diana is a man-eating plant, telling them that Diana’s room smells like rotting insects and is like a hot house. Corrine adds that Diana eats flies and leaves a mark on everyone that she touches, which Josie corrects that the mark is only on the boys, and says that Diana showed up right after Corrine’s Venus Flytrap disappeared. Professor Z wants to examine the mark before taking any impulsive action but that isn’t enough for Corrine.

“Are you sure you’re not just jealous of her?” – Josie to Corrine.

At the same time, we also get Marshall up in his room talking to Lucas countering what Corrine is saying in the science room. Marshall tells Lucas that Diana smells like a rare wild orchid and that she is really smart as she is advanced on everything in the curriculum. Neither can believe that Diana likes Marshall.
In the science room, Corrine sums up the situation by saying that if Diana is really a Venus Flytrap turned human, flies won’t keep Diana satisfied for long and that she’ll need something bigger, like a person; Marshall. Corrine and Josie run out of the science room. Professor Z is unable to call them back as he goes after them. In the hallway, both pass Vaughn. Vaughn walks up to Professor Z, who stops to talk with him. Vaughn asks what is up with Corrine and Josie but Professor Z turns the question against Diana, saying that the real question is “What is up with Diana Music?” Professor Z points out the “slime” on Vaughn’s hand, saying it may lead them to an answer.
Upstairs, Corrine and Josie knock on Lucas and Marshall’s door. Lucas answers. Corrine wants to know where Marshall is but Lucas asks why she wants to know. Corrine responds by saying:

“Because Diana’s going to strip the flesh off of his skeleton with her digestive enzymes.” – Corrine to Lucas

Lucas, of course, believes this is some joke. Josie grabs Lucas’s arm seeing the “slime” mark left by Diana’s touch and accuses him of spending time with Diana. Josie and Corrine brush past Lucas and into the room. Looking out the window, Corrine tells Josie that Marshall and Diana just left.

“Spending a little time with Diana, Lucas?” – Josie to Lucas

At the theater, Marshall and Diana are watching an old black and white movie Revenge of the Pod People. Marshall appears nervous while Diana seems a bit intrigued by the movie. Josie and Corrine walk into the theater with flashlights looking for them. Josie spots them but they are unsure how to proceed. Marshall puts his arm around Diana’s shoulders and she leans against Marshall which makes it appear that Diana is biting Marshall’s neck. Quickly, Josie and Corrine rush over to the row where Marshall and Diana are sitting ordering Diana to stop. Marshall and Diana are bewildered by Corrine’s and Josie’s presence. Corrine warns Marshall that Diana is a man-eating plant to which Diana laughs but Marshall is not amused by Corrine’s accusation. Audience members who are angry at Josie and Corrine yell for them to turn off their flashlights and take the scene outside. Corrine insists that Diana is trying to trap Marshall but Diana reverses the accusation, pointing out that it is Corrine who wants Marshall to spend all of his time with her. Josie warns Marshall that she’s going to eat him but Marshall dismisses the idea as crazy and that he does not need to be saved by Corrine. Audience members continue to yell at Corrine and Josie and Marshall tells Corrine and Josie to leave. Angered, Corrine rushes off, followed by Josie. Marshall chuckles at Corrine’s theory but as one of the movie characters screams, Diana turns to face Marshall, opening her mouth. Hairs grow from her teeth as she pounces on Marshall.

“We came to see the movie not you two!” – Audience member to Josie and Corrine.

In the theater’s hallway, Josie tries to get Corrine to go back in to save Marshall but Corrine no longer cares. Professor Z, Vaughn, and Lucas arrive on the scene. Professor Z tells Corrine and Josie that he discovered cells from the “slime” on Vaughn’s arm corresponds with an anesthetic used by Venus Flytraps to stun its prey. People from the theater begin walking out. The movie has ended. They wonder how to attack Diana. Professor Z presents the solution, an icing bag full of Garbanzo Cheese Loaf which he found in the back of his refrigerator from two weeks ago. Josie realizes that it is full of bacteria. Into the theater they march.
Down the aisles, they can’t find Diana and Marshall as they look around. Josie begins to speculate what happened to Marshall but Corrine doesn’t want to hear it. They begin to hear Marshall murmuring weakly to Diana, asking her where she is taking him. Looking up at the movie screen, Josie, Corrine, Professor Z, and Vaughn see a silhouette of Diana pushing Marshall steadily across the backstage. Running quickly to the back, they see Marshall propped up against a wooden column, bewildered. They don’t see Diana anywhere. Looking around, Corrine spots her up on a catwalk above them. Diana jumps down, posing to attack them. Lunging at them, Diana jumps into the air and flips over them, landing opposite of her previous position. Professor Z takes aim with the icing bag. Diana laughs at Professor Z’s idea as he squeezes the icing bag. The gooey cheese slurps out onto Diana. Disgusted, Diana laughs, telling them that Professor Z has missed. Swiftly, Corrine grabs the icing bag from Professor Z, giving it another squeeze and this time the mushy cheese gets into Diana’s mouth. Diana runs away. Josie and Professor Z give chase while Corrine and Vaughn assist Marshall.

“That ought to leave a bad taste in your mouth.” – Corrine to Diana.

Out in the audience area of the theater, Diana runs up the aisle, limping along. Diana goes out of camera view but we see a shadow on the wall of a human figure turning into something smaller. Professor Z and Josie, followed by Corrine, Marshall, and Vaughn come out from behind the backstage area and look around for Diana. They don’t see her anywhere. Looking down, Professor Z picks up a Venus Flytrap lying on the floor. He says he wants to take it back for further analysis but Corrine tells him that that is one experiment she is happy to be finished with and places the Venus Flytrap into a trashcan. Marshall thanks Corrine for saving him as they leave the theater.

“These hicky things kind of sting.” – Marshall to Corrine and Vaughn.

The next day, Lucas walks out of the back of the school with Josie. Vaughn and Stu are tossing around a baseball. Lucas asks if she is bothered that he was attracted to Diana to which Josie replies that she didn’t care. Lucas goes on to say that all of the boys were under Diana’s power. This causes Josie to look to Vaughn in a wondering state of mind. Lucas seems disappointed.
Corrine and Marshall are walking on the grass. Marshall is wondering what he will change his project to. He no longer wants to do it on Nitrogen because it reminds him of Diana. Corrine confesses that she thinks that she herself was trying to trap him as well. She only wanted to spend time with him. Marshall tells her that he wants to spend time with her as well. He offers that they try again but not have their time be so scheduled.

At the movie theater, a boy is cleaning up the place. He comes across the trashcan with the Venus Flytrap. Picking it up, he places it into a can, believing it to be cool.

    Episode notes:

    • Janitor's secret message: "She grows from attention. A deadly rival arrives. Not to be forgotten."
    Personal thoughts:
This episode drove me up a wall. The C/M plot base was super-annoying. The episode does the opposite of its assumed intended purpose and actually hurts C+M in the eyes of possibility. Another thing, Corrine and Marshall were never in a relationship. This episode was random. It is a plot based off of Corrine thinking they're in a relationship.
A lot like this episode for its cheesiness, saying it is a tribute to old B-movies of the past. I hate those. Some like them though.
Something interesting, some think that Diana ate the burgar the way she did because she is naturally a pig/unrefined or something like that. However, did anyone remember Marshall's comment in the beginning of the episode about Corrine not feeding it enough and it must be starving? *points out connection*. She ate the burger like a pig because she was starving.
The scene where Stu is hit with the ball is ultra-fun to watch over and over. Also, did anyone think the music when Stu got hit in the head was so Oregon Trail?
