Corrine catches Josie as Josie searches through Corrine's desk for her silver bracelet. Corrine gives it to Josie and asks for her book back. Josie claims she doesn't have it.
In Science, the class learns about sponges. Professor Z makes a comment that sponges may live their entire life one rock. Corrine makes a quiet comment about Josie taking the rock from the sponge. Lucas, two seats behind Corrine, asks Marshall, a seat behind Corrine, what Corrine said. Marshall replies that she said, "Something about Josie taking stuff." Katya, overhearing, tells Madison that Josie was caught taking something. Madison takes the opportunity to spread the word over the class and school. At that time, Vaughn points out that one sponge, in the aquarium, was turned to two, and then four.

"Unless, when the sponge is not looking, Josie takes the rock." - Corrine to herself.

After class, Corrine can't find her CDs that she got for her birthday. Marshall and Lucas tell Corrine that Principle Durst caught Josie for stealing a lot of things and speculates that maybe Josie took the CDs. Corrine defends Josie but the idea remains in her head.
Meanwhile, the sponges continue to multiply, taking over the aquarium and expanding out of it.
Outside, Josie asks Vaughn to use his CD burner, revealing Corrine's CDs. Vaughn feels uneasy but allows her to use it, Corrine watches from a window.

"I've lost two pounds." – Madison to Vaughn.
"And if you got your brain liposuctioned you'd lose another ounce." – Josie to Madison.

In the Science room, Professor Z sees the sponges multiplying. Gathering books on sponges, Professor Z encounters Corrine reading about kleptomania to investigate Josie. After talking with Corrine, he tells her that she needs to talk with Josie. They hear a scream and run into the hallway, meeting Lucas and Marshall as a scared girl leaves the scene. The hallway is filled with sponges growing on the walls. Calculating the growth of the sponges, after 72 hrs, they'll cover the entire planet. They investigate on possible food sources that would allow the sponges to grow and a way to stop the sponges.
Meanwhile, Josie is at Vaughn's house, burning the CDs. Apparently, Josie is creating a greatest hits CD for Corrine's birthday. She also tries to get into Victor's files, but they're password protected. Vaughn talks to her about the rumors about her and Josie becomes furious and leaves to talk with Marshall, Lucas, and Corrine, who started the rumor.
The sponges multiply. Josie confronts Marshall, Lucas, and Corrine, and an argument arises between Corrine and Josie. While Josie and Corrine leave for their room, Lucas, Marshall, and Professor Z decide to produce the most annoying sound they can think of to aim at the sponges: boy band music. Simultaneously, Corrine and Josie tell each other the truths (Josie gives Corrine her birthday gift also), while the music is playing are the science room. Lucas, Marshall, and Professor Z believe their idea is working and turn up the music. They find out too late that it really was the truth that defeated the rumors and causing the sponges to disappear, rather than their idea of playing annoying music.
Victor Pearson tells Principal Durst he will be conducting more experiments and also tells Vaughn that it is important not to trust Josie.

    Episode notes:

    • Janitor's secret message: "Josie and Corrine know each other well" and "Josie will find what she's looking for."
    Personal thoughts:
I was annoyed by this episode. A little history of the episode: After "Chemistry," there was a pause in new episodes aired by DCKids and TNBC. All of us on the StrangeDays forum were waiting for it. Anticipation is building as we are told it is going to be another repeat episode. Then what happens? Some of the members who receive the station Global Saskatoon tell us the episode aired for them! In the US, we had another month to wait. The UK got it before the US as well.
This, and the next two episodes after it I remember as "the annoyance episodes" because we knew the episode names but Global Saskatoon was airing different episodes in an incorrect order, messing us (and especially me) up on how to arrange Tvtome's episode guide.
So, I think waiting for this episode and how I personally assosiate it made me disappointed by it.
It was good though. Principal Durst talking to the ball and the sponges everywhere was amusing. We will always remember the ball with Victor's face drawn on it.
