         Kelly Trent is Josie's mother. She worries that Josie may not like her and is trying to be more close to Josie.
    According to her, the work she does involves research for private companies and it is an occupation involving confidentiality. Kelly also worked at Pearadyne, apparently one of the people who began it.

         In the first season, Kelly Trent appears as a mother trying to keep in contact with her daughter. Victor Pearson learns of her presence at Blake Holsey High and invites her to come back to work for Pearadyne Industries.
         In the second season, Kelly tells Victor that she does not want to work for him again. She leaves Josie, telling Josie that she will make a better effort to be a part of her life.
         In the third season, Kelly is not season but is mentioned on occasion. She made summer plans to take Josie on a trip to Europe. Also, Victor tells Vaughn that Sarah did not trust Kelly Trent.
