The American Southwest is whats left of the undiscovered, uncontaminated, frontier of yesterday. It is one of the most beautiful and seemingly desolate and lifeless places in this country. It is a place that I have been drawn to all my life. It is the one place where I have felt closer to God than any other. It has the most fantastically clear, clean air with the most beautiful and vibrant colors that you can only imagine in your mind! I saw more stars at night and the deepest blue sky by day than I have ever seen. It was a dream come true and a reconnection with the earth and myself that I have never experienced anywhere else. It is grander than any cathedral that man has built over the centuries.

  The photos are a few of many. They come from four trips to the Soutwest. The first was to the "Four-corners" area in January of 1993. I went with our new Pontiac van, a small four-wheeler in the back along with every kind of camping and outdoor item I could think of. Also, I had my trusty Canon Rebel S and my Sharp camcorder set up between the two bucket seats of the van. What resulted from the three week trip was over 400 photos and some 14 hours of video tape. It was the dream of a lifetime. No pressure, no hurry, and an almost unlimited list of things to see and do. Since then, I have been back 3 more times. I visited my favorite places and explored many new ones too. Please enjoy the pictures on the following pages.
