Fire Tower News from Maine


The 1999 fire season was a success, with an above average number of brush fires to report, totalling at 104. A great deal of thanks goes to all those involved in the tower activities this year. We opened the tower on April 10th and closed October 29th, 1999

December 1998--The ALMANAC Mt. Fire Tower, near Topsfield , Maine, is being listed on the National Historic Lookout Register and is being turned over to local landowners. Preservation of the tower is a priority!
