Campaña Antitoreo - Antibullfighting Campaign
Y otros Animalitos - And other Little Animals

COLABORADORES - COLLABORATORS

En construcción - Under construction
Once published in the "Llibre de Visites" the initial notice for the abolition of bullfighting in Barcelona, that we have seen in the home page, some associations or individuals theorically devoted to animal protection were invited to collaborate in the campaign.
The invitation was the following one:
Dear friends,
I am Salvador Raich, from the Campaña Antitoreo (Antibullfighting Campaign), from Barcelona, Spain. As most probably your browser is not prepared for writing the Spanish n (the ñ, i.e the n more ~, n with ALT+126), I write it again with a normal n: Campana Antitoreo.
You can visit my web page, with a reference to bullfighting: Human Rights + Bullfighting.. In the web page of the Barcelona Municipal Government there is a section named "Llibre de Visites". You can click on it and read the comments of the people on Barcelona, etc., and with the date of the 19th December, 1996 my request, in Spanish and in "my" English, in order that nobody visits Barcelona as long as in it are showed bullfightings. In the same section you are invited to give your comments on line. You can send a message joining my position, saying, for example, that you should like very much to visit Barcelona, or to see the Gaudi's work, or to walk by the Ramblas, or to admire the Cathedral, or to see the Olimpic Town, etc., but not until the corridas are forbidden in Barcelona. It is better that you do not mention any animal protective association, in order to avoid to be considered one of these "fools" or "dizzy people" who protect animals. You should better appear as "normal" persons, not "animal protectors".
Of course, the greater the number of persons of your association, friends, relatives, etc. who send such messages, the better. And if you can inform other associations or individuals in your country or abroad, still better.
Thanking you in advance, I remain
Yours cordially
Salvador Raich Ullán
Perhaps this invitation merits some comments:
Some collaborators have complained because animal protectors are not considered as "normal" persons.
I assumed that writing it between quotations was explicit enough, but for these persons I explain that perhaps you don't understand which is the situation in Spain. But it is very easy to realize: Spain is a land in which the torture of bulls (and horses!), not clandestine but public, as a show, is considered by the probullfighters as a "national fiesta". "Fiesta" is not anyone show. A show can be serious and even sad. "Fiesta" means joy, laughs, hapiness.
Therefore, for them, a person who does not sees bullfighting as a "fiesta" is not "normal", is a "fool" or a "dizzy" or a "stupid" person, and only this "crazy" people who protects animals can be against bullfighting, and no attention must be paid to them.
I have more than one hundred cats. Some of my neighbours, when they become acquainted with this news, exclaim: "More than one hundred cats! What a nausea! What will he do with more than one hundred cats?". And after thinking for a while, the conclusion comes: "To eat them!".
Other collaborators complain for having to lie. But there are "white lies", as for example to say that one would come to Barcelona if there were not corridas, knowing that one would not come even in this case. But, to whom prejudice this lie?: to the probullfighters; to whom benefits?: to the bulls, to the horses, to the Barcelonians, and to the whole Humanity. And all us tell white lies, as Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, le Père Noel, the Magic Kings, etc. know.

Invito a los colaboradores a explicar en qué ha consistido su colaboración Errors and omissions excepted, the following ones wre contacted in the date indicated afterwards. Links correspond to those who collaborated sending at least an acknowledgement of receipt or one message to the "Llibre de Visites". This distinction is incomplete, since someones who collaborated are still pending of revision and merit a link, that will be given to them as soon as their case is revised. This does not imply that those who have collaborated cannot do it with more intensity. I invite the collaborators to explain in what consisted their collaboration.
