Belfry is the time teller of every monastery and in Buddhism it symbolizes "awakening for the noble-truth
and the feeling of peace". In Wat Pho, there are 2 bell towers, one in the south and one in the north-with the group of four
dynasty pagodas (Phra Maha Chedi Si Rajakarn) in the middle, having been buil in the
reign of King Rama I and King Rama III respectively.
They are tetrahedrons in twelve notched-rim structures ending in a tall spire, standing on a high thick pedestal with
stairs and boundary wall decorated with multicoloured Chinese mosaics.
