"Oliver" is about a boy who was orphaned at birth by his mother who died due to complications. The boy, Oliver, is raised by Mr. Bumble. He retrieves orphans to work for him and run errands for food (gruel) and shelter. Oliver, is sold to the undertaker for 5 english pounds after he wants more food. He then is exposed to Fagin and Nancy after he runs away from the undertaker. He is on the streets pickpocketing for Fagin, but gets caught and has to run errands for a rich man. This rich man turns out to be Agnes' father (Oliver's mother).
