The Kinabalu Balsam (Impatiens platyphylla) is a small perennial which is especially abundant along the nature trails in Kinabalu Park. I believe it is an endemic species found nowhere else although I have seen a similar balsam on Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain.
