Press Release

Join us for World Peace and Prayer Day
Cry of the Eagle - International Day of Prayer - June 21, 1998

In 1998, we gather again in unified prayer for World Peace on June 21st. We wish to bring attention and direct prayers to the plight of our animal relations that are suffering, such as the Wolf, Buffalo, Salmon and many others. What happens to them happens to us. They are a warning to us.

We see even in our own the innocent ones, the children are suffering and in need of prayers and direction. With the pressures of today's society bearing down on them, we are seeing an alarming rise in the rate of Suicide, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, and Violent Gang activities. Every culture has Traditional values that would empower the youth to seek a healthier way of life, it must begin by bringing these youth that are in need together with those that hold the knowledge-the Keepers of Traditional ways-the Elders.

June 19th - Friday, Organizing Day
June 20th - Saturday, Teaching Day
June 21st - Sunday, Prayer Day

Each person must understand the responsibility we all have for building and sustaining the human family and community. Through teachings from our relatives the animal nation, we learn the power of our relationship to each other and out mother earth. Each day is a prayer. This solstice gathering is for focused thought and prayers for healing and World Peace for today and beyond.

The gathering will take place at the Pipestone Quarries, Pipestone, Minnesota USA.
Each of you that choose to come, we ask that you bring food, tobacco and a gift. Plan on bringing your own plates, bowls and utensils. When we go to this sacred site, we go respectfully and in a good way. We seek to bring the understanding of the Power of Prayer and the respect of all faiths, all colors, the value and beauty of our different cultures. For those that cannot attend, we ask that you hold a prayer gathering at a sacred site in your area.

To make World Peace and Prayer Day 1998 possible, we need help, we cannot do this alone. Our logistical and material needs are many, which takes financial considerations. If you are able to assist in any way, or can refer us to others that can assist, please contact us. For financial assistance, make checks payable to: Rediscovery Four Corners, Inc. (501c3), 5820 131 Street West, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Only certain individuals are responsible for soliciting/disbursing the funds with the approval of the White Buffalo Calf Keeper. For those that would like to contribute from their tiospaye (community) we are forever thankful.
