stalked by the arch fiends

They follow you everywhere,
with their global culture
its stinking bacteria of marketing
grabbing at our tv screens,
infecting our streets and cities
with the putrid special sauce
beef patties, pickles and sesame seed buns

No pencillin can smash them,
no disinfectant can quell the odour
emanating from beneath the yellow arches
The stench is franchised around the globe

Deeming themselves givers of life,
they buy our good will
infect our hospitals, our schools
Adventuring their social conscience
Inducing a burger dependence
while millions labour under lard
hauling their heart disease

They are the friends of the young
just as long as they consume,
don’t strike or dare to presume
that life is more than tossing meat

Don’t dare criticise this friendly company
you can’t apply any such heat
to the kitchens of such corporate citizenry
They will advertise you out of existence

You will consume
Or you will not exist
