-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3:51a - New and old friends. An interesting evening. I talked with Christa on the phone today...it's been Soooooo long since I've heard her voice or since we've even exchanged email or anything. I was thinking of her yesterday and just had to call. It was so wonderful...At first it was sort of strange...there was so much to say but it was hard to get words out. We had a couple of those odd silences...not really uncomfortable silences...just...weird. It didn't take long before we were jabbering like old times though and that felt good. I didn't realize just how long it'd been until i actually started to think about it... Christa has always been an important part of my life and it scared me to realize how we'd quite nearly driven a wedge between ourselves. Post september 11th put a real strain on our friendship. We've both changed so much over the years... Later on I logged on to check my email and received a sort of...hard to describe it, but a rather unique lj comment...one I certainly never expected. I believe it's all settled down now and it resulted in a really great (and *long*) chat session later. All of it because of something simple like time zones. During said chat session Dan logged on way over in Nashville and I've been on with him ever since...something like five hours now. I've already gone over my 120 hour a month limit. Luckily it's late in the month so I shouldn't get dinged too badly on over usage charges...and right now it's worth it to stay on and pay the like, dollar/hour surcharge. We're playing spades on yahoo right now. :) We're losing miserably as I suck at spades. Dan is doing marveously well which makes me so happy to hear. Sunrise is in about 2 hours. Planning to go do the birds thing again at that spot in Ishikawa. My ear has stopped "leaking" so I think it's safe to go out in the "jungle". current mood: ecstatic
