Yup. Nothing's happenin'. The editors haven't even finished 
formatting the So Cal book, and the NorCal book won't be started 
until after its release. Don't expect the SoCal book til Xmas, if 
then, and the NorCal book next Spring. This isn't the same Wilderness 
Press that Tom Winnett used to run...

OK...see...this sucks SERIOUS ass. This essentially means I have to plan on NOT having the guidebooks. The only used copy of California (the old, single voume version at that) I've seen is $153.10 (that's not a typo). I've got free maps specifically designed for use on the PCT up to Wrightwood...but that's only about 350 miles in. I believe there are other maps I can get for free, but they're not tailored to PCT users. :(

yeah...I need one more logistical hurdle like I need a broken foot.

As an aside...went diving yesterday with a bud that hasn't been out in a while. We tried a new site, "Malibu Beach". Wasn't horrible but it was pretty murky (@40 ft vis), entailed a longish walk/fin out to the drop off point, and the "good stuff" is located where we had to turn around due to oxygen constraints. 

We translocated after that and did out second dive at Maeda ;)

After a thorough look over of the camera, i think i figured out that it is leaking sunlight and that's why I'm having issues with it. I tried ducktaping the back cover up...we'll see how much good it did as I'm gonna get 1 hour developing done today...

Tomorrow I leave for Fuji!
