--> Plot - A man with two bullets in his back is pulled out of the ocean by a group of fishermen. He has no idea who he is and how got to be there all he is left with is one clue which leads him to a bank where he discovers fake passports, loads of dosh and a gun..
--> Review - Spy movies are great we've got bond, The Saint, Ethan Hunt, XXX and more, but, whats different about this movie is that because he has amnesia he has to discover his skills [which might I say are pretty impresssive] and with us , the audience, finding out along the way aswell. The casting for the movie was also very good with Matt Damon pulling off a good performance as an amnesiac who has to find his way through new experiences and abilitys. The chemistry between Matt Damon and Franka Potente is also very believeable and entertaining to watch as they become more closer when Jason discovers these new abilites of his.
On the action side of the film though there is not as much as what I thought there would be. Not that it's bad or anything its just that there's only a couple of major action sequences. Though only a few, they are great, especially the steven Seagal stylee hand-to-hand combat. I really liked that the setting was in Europe as gave it more of a realism as a spy movie, like 'The Saint' and the first 'Mission Impossible' movie. There's hardly any plot holes in the movie and the ending I thought was great because though alot was given away about the characters, alot was not.
--> My final thought - I was completley blown away by good performances from the leads and very pleased with the superb direction from Doug 'Go' Liman. Matt Damon has also confirmed that if there is a good enough script there will be a sequel.
Overall Rating - 4****
