2006-07 Winter hockey league agreement between GREATER OTTAWA HOCKEY LEAGUE (731-2168)
and _____________________________________________________ (CLIENTS).
I/We _____________________________________________________ (clients),
1. All teams will play a 25 game schedule, (except those not ending in the top four in their respective Divisions after playoff round robin: those few teams will play only 24 games total) which includes both regular and playoff games, ending approximately March 30, 2007. All games will be played Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings between 6 and 11:00 PM and possibly, occassional Saturday afternoons, between 12:00 AM (lunchtime) and 5:00 PM. All attempts will be made to have teams play one game per week, but due to the Universitys' priority commitments, some teams could possibly skip a week and may play twice a following week (usually only happens near end of year).
2. The full team fee to play in the GOHL's 2006-07 Winter Hockey Season is $4,295.00 (forty-two hundred, and ninety-five dollars).
3. Balance of team entry fee, after receipt of the $495.00 deposit fee (dated the day application is to be received/acknowledged), will be due in 5 post-dated cheque payments made payable to the Greater Ottawa Hockey
League and MUST ACCOMPANY THIS AGREEMENT.
1st cheque: $700.00 by September 11, 2006
2nd cheque: $700.00 by October 10, 2006
3rd cheque: $800.00 by November 13, 2006
4th cheque: $800.00 by December 11, 2006
5th cheque: $800.00 by January 22, 2007.
NOTE: No ‘third party’ cheques will be accepted.
4. I also agree to, and include a $200.00 Team Bond, (cheque to be dated by September 11, 2006), to be applied towards any fines or charges (ie. Cancelled/NSF cheques, sweater rentals, property damages, penalty fines, etc.) our team may be assessed during the season. Returning teams need only 'Top-up' their existing Team Bond. Should this Team Bond be reduced to below $100.00 because of fines, etc. IT MUST BE IMMEDIATELY TOPPED BACK UP TO $200.00. This Bond, or balance of same, will be returned, if requested, after final season game. Teams may elect to leave their Team Bond (or balance of same) with the League for use in any subsequent year, should that team return to this league.
5. All uncashable cheques, for any reason whatsoever, will cost the team it came from, a $50.00 service charge added onto replacement cheque/cash, or may be taken from Team Bond.
6. All stated costs or charges DO NOT include GST and the Client will be entirely responsible for same should it be so requested by anyone. (In all previous years, it has never been requested.)
7. Any regularly scheduled and/or playoff games that cannot be played at scheduled date and time because of the University Complexs' commitments to other clients and/or for unforeseen problems, will be rescheduled for the first available date and time, and in cases of playoffs, only if necessary.
8. SWEATERS. ALL players on all teams MUST wear IDENTICAL sweaters (only exceptions are i: logo or printing on players' sweaters and ii: goalie may wear different style of sweater but MUST be the same main colour as rest of team (otherwise a $10.00 fine / infraction: game will go on and supervisor may tell team rep after game of infraction and fine). Teams are urged to have two sets of sweaters. See further explanation in Rules and Regulations re. this item.
9. Any player amassing a total of 50 minutes (30 minutes if less than 15 games played) in penalties will be fined the following for additional penalties: $5.00 for any and all minors and $10.00 for any and all majors/misconducts (all player penalty minutes on the Leagues web site). All fine revenues will be used to help defray costs of League awards at end of season.
10. ALL helmets and goalie masks MUST be CSA approved with NO missing/broken parts and MUST have proper chin strap (no tape). A full or half face mask IS MANDATORY this year. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE TWO ITEMS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AT ANY TIME DURING THIS SEASON !! If a player is seen on the ice with a helmet or facemask that no longer conforms with this article’s conditons, AT ANY TIME during the League’s hockey season, he will receive an ‘illegal equipment’ minor penalty and will not be permitted to return onto the ice until it is corrected or replaced. Helmet and facemask violations will be called by referees or League officials who may have been informed by a timekeeper or supervisor.
11. Final selection of teams for entry into the League will be at the discretion of the League Directors and/or the League Commissioner/Convenor.
12. No team in this League may use a 'carded' player who is playing in any Junior league, or better calibre.
13. I have read and understand the League’s Rules and Regulations. I also agree to inform all my team’s players of all conditions of this application and the League’s Rules and Regulations. I further agree to submit my player roster WITH this application for player approval by the League. Any and ALL new players wishing to play on this team after team realignment (after 5th game) may have to provide picture ID and will be subject to League approval. NO new players will be allowed to join, or play with, any team AFTER November 1, 2006 (goalies excepted). New players may also be permitted to play/join a team up to December 1, 2006, only if their name appears on this ajoining Player Line-up sheet at time of registration.
14. We agree that our team or any player on our team may be ejected from this League for “just cause” (displaying a lack of respect to opposing players and either referees or League officials, violating the League's Rules and Regulations, intent to injure anyone, etc.) WITHOUT any reimbursement of League fees given to that point.
15. My/our signature hereunder, accompanied by my/our $495.00 deposit, payable to the GREATER OTTAWA HOCKEY LEAGUE, 5 post-dated cheques (6 if Bond is separate) in the aforementioned amounts and dates, plus our Player roster/Line-up, signifies my/our acceptance of this application/agreement and to all terms and conditions as written.
All players MUST complete and sign a GOHL Player Informed Consent and Liability form PRIOR to playing in the GOHL or will be designated as an Illegal Player and may invoke penalties as described in the GOHL's Rules and Regulations.
** PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PLAYERS MUST BRING A COMPLETED AND SIGNED WAIVER FORM (INFORMED PLAYER CONSENT) PRIOR TO PLAYING IN THE LEAGUE OR THEY WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ILLEGAL PLAYER!
