Moslems were extremely interested in the art of calligraphy in thier rich age; with no difference between thier high or lower classes . They also took it as a means and a high art, using it to qualify thier wonderfull wisdoms and proverbs. It had different shapes and kinds that reached forty kinds in the Abbassian age. Ebn Moqlaa joined these kindes and extracted six in the Abbassian age:Tholoth,Simple,Basil,Hanging,Positive and Patched. |
