it would seem that howard is a tennant at the corner - a high rise that houses ' misfits '. Misfits isn't a term i'm necessarily comfortable with but, i'm even less happy with terms like psychos or nutcases. no, misfits is much better.
it reminds me of the movie Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer! :o) Believe it or Not :o) if i asked you what you remember most about that holiday favorite, i would wager that it wouldn't be the Ilse of the Misfit Toys. i'm guessing you might, instead, break out in song... rudolph the red nose reindeer.... had a very shiny nose.... lalalalalalala. or, you'd relate to me how scared you would get when the Snow Monster chased after Rudolph AND his little friend the Elf (who, incidently, really wanted to be a dentist).
i live in an area of Uptown known as the "New" China Town. Never mind that the restaurants are primarily Korean. This part of Uptown is mostly made up of Koreans, Gay Men, Druggies and the Misfits. as i recover from the withdrawl and move on to bigger and better Mind Drugs, i wonder .... or perhaps it's painfully obvious to me, which category i fit in best.
i saw the dancing man today. i forgot about him yesterday when i was looking back at all the wonderful people in Chicago i've been exposed to (for lack of a better term).
And, walking back from McDonalds today i saw the woman i thought was dead on the sidewalk last summer. it was 100+ degrees that day and she was just lying there on the sidewalk. people were just stepping over her. i bought her a quart of water and set it down next to her.... she opened one eye, snatched the water up and went back to where ever she'd come from. Perhaps, it was the Savage Dump.
today she seemed very much alive. she had a filthy pink dress on and was talking and singing away to someone in here head. she was definitely not hanging out in this world. :o)i'm sure she wasn't feeling like a Misfit... even though that's the category everyone would place her it.... yep, there with Howard and the Dancing Man.... and Me?
