Love Across The Salt Desert

Sand and salt everywhere,

And not a drop of sea,

Hot as hot is possible,

And nowhere left to be

These three years of drought,

Have brought hunger and pain,

I miss you so much my love,

More than this desert misses rain

Shades of brown everywhere,

Not a green patch one can see,

But your love grows in my heart,

Green as green could be

To reach you my dear,

To everyone I lied,

With thirst across the desert,

I tried, tried and tried

I knew you would be waiting,

For me to come your way,

So I walked beneath the scorching sun,

While others made hay

I crossed the borders for you,

With tons of hurdles to face,

I forgot all the pain when,

I was lost in your embrace

I stole you from your land,

And took you to where I belong,

You brought the showers with you,

Which were awaited for so long

My people will never forget you,

Coz for them you were a boon,

You’ll be praised for what you are,

Till the sun shines on the moon

My love for you will stay the same,

I promise you this today,

And may we never part again,

To God, for this I pray

With Love
