| A disapointing match for Rapid as their slide down the table continues. The game started well, with Rapid enjoying the early control. The initial play was all down Leazes' left side, With Rapid's right winger baker excelling in the opening exchnages. The game however, quickly settled into a pattern of Leazes domination, with Rapid finding themselves overrun in midfield. Two weakly conceeded goals ensured that Leazes's dominance was rewarded. Captain Lee took a gamble at half time and brought on Dave P for his debut. The decision quickly paid off with Dave running things in midfield. Leazes were unluck to concede a penalty after 40mins when the ref ruled that Russ had been fouled. After his goal scoring herorics for Inter Pilan the previous week, Gaz stepped up to take the penalty only to hit it weaklly to the keeper's right. Dave P was on hand though to smash the rebound into the top corner. Another defensive blunder from Rapid meant that the game finished 1-3. Rapid man of the match : DAVE P |
