Weight reduction is an im portant part of making your motor working less thus making the car faster with the same out put of energy without reducing weight.
i will show you my super x chassis as an example of cutting off un wanted pieces. here
trimming the chassis
im sorry i dont have any more chassis' only a super 1 but that is used for my stok racing. when cutting of pieces off of any chassis put all your pieces together like it is gonna race in 5 minutes. mark places of where you want to trim the chassis with all of the stuf in STILL. i empisize too much because i made the same mistake. this is what i did for my old x chassis. i cut the whole insertion point of the body hook all the way to the the edge of the bumper until it came off i tried to put the body back on and it didnt stay i went to try it on my track on a hill bump the body came off. so make sure you put all the parts of the of your car so you know where to cut.
the lightest chassis
other than cutting of pieces of the chassis you can choose the lightest chassis. i think the lightest chassis is the vs. i dont recommend using it in mod only in stock because its width is small. and if you cant find side extension roller mounts and at least 17mm aluminum rollers it will luse power when it hits the wall because wider width is stable during turns and will not loose as much speed. other than that vs is pretty good in mod only with side ex. keepin in mind the width rules
buying hollow parts
Hollow parts will help you alot in modified tamiya racing.if you buy a hollow propellor shaft and axles it will help you accelrate faster even if you use 3.5: 1 it makes your car lighter by about 3 grams total. also these hollow parts are stronger than the stock axles and propellor shaft. idont know why thy just are. hollow stuf
polycarbonate Body shells
these are great for your car. any design is cool even the spin axe. the car of this guy here makes the spin axe look like a prfessional GT1 in a le mans race view here. PBS are really great substitutes for cutting up the stock body. if you mess up on a max breaker your body wood look really mesed up. so a sake soluti0n of this is using a PolyCarb. i suggest a tridager neo ZMC or a mag saber both are half decent looking. it dusnt really matter the chassis if the PBS dosent fit then use spacers.
