Snoop Dogg was born to Vernado Vernall and Beverly Broadus. His father left him before he could walk. It was his father that gave him the nickname "Snoopy" due to the resemblance of the Peanuts character Snoopy. Snoop's mom was always with a new man, she had "Big Bing" who gave Snoop his step-brother, "Lil Bing". At an early age Snoop was a ladies man, but his rejection rate was higher then his acception rate, at 12 he had his first sexual experience. He would meet Warren Griffin III, a childhood friend of his, they would start to sell candy together and would always think of rapping. At first, Warren was the one always encouraging Snoop to rap and they would record demos and Warren would pass them to his older step-brother, Dr Dre. It was until Snoop's cousin, Martin moved in that Snoop felt the need to be independant, so he moved out. It was until age 16 he had made peace with his mom and gotten a job at Lucky's as a boxboy. He was this time smoking a lot of weed because of one of his uncles, who later died of an overdose. Out of nowhere, Snoop was asked by one of his Crip-affiliated friends to join them and Snoop accepted. He was now apart of the Rollin' Twenties and he didnt feel the need to go to school if he could make a career out on the streets. So he went into school one day with weed in his mouth, the teacher told him to take it out, and he just blew smoke in his face. He was then sent to the principals with a note of suspension. So he then went to work planning on quitting, but as soon as he walked in with his eyes bloodshocked, weary-eyed he was immediately fired, and sent home. The cops would later come to apprehend Snoop and take him to Juvi fer a month, but after he came out, he gained a newly found respect from his fellow Crip peers.
After that he was stealing purses, getting drunk, and getting high. He would then hook up with the Insane Crips to start to sell drugs. He would later purchase a broke down '77 cutlass supreme four door in which he lived in until he got enough money to move shop and his living quarters to the Stallion Hotel. In was in High School he had met Shante. She would later become his wife and mother of his kids. One day he felt that he would introduce her to the Rollin' Twenties, so he was going to throw a big part with the entertainment him, Nate Dogg, and Warren G on the Tables. The show was banging and this was what made Snoop persue his rapping career. He would start to record demos in Nate's basement, but until he realised he wasnt making money, he went back to selling drugs and was a victim to a drug bust, and was placed in jail for a year. He had a major toothache, so with the money he had stashed away, he got one of his teeth pulled. He was in the need for pain relievers, so once he made it to Warren G's house, he had been highly sedated on pain relievers. It was until he was awaken up to yells and him being taken away in a police car that he remembered he had forgotten to report to his probation officer. He was given 8 months of jail time.
Once he got out, he was a changed man, he would persue rapping with 213, they would record in a studio of a man who owned a record store. THey would use a tore-down drum machine and try to punch out every last drum left of that to make a beat. He would then slip it into one of his brothers tapes for his partys and left everyone in awe.
He was called to meet Dr Dre the next day and he would meet with him, freestyle for him, and Dre would sign him. It was until the next morning that he got his big break. He was ready to have breakfast when Dre got off the phone angry. He was suppose to be in the studio recording a song for the movie "Deep Cover", he told Snoop to write the song in an hour and they would go record it, Note: Dre Gave Him The Lyric "Tonights The Night, I Get In Sum Shit, On A Incognito Real Tip" from that lyric he wrote the song and it became a hit. He would later end up recording the Chronic, which the hit song "Nuthin But A G Thang" would blast his career in the open. He would perform on many of the other songs on the CD like "Deez Nuts", "Let Me Ride", "Bitches Aint Shit", "Dre Day".
He would then begin work on his self-debut record "Doggystyle" which would sky-rocket his career.
Snoop Dogg would suffer the biggest change in his life. It was during the making of "Doggystyle" that he would have problems with a blood gang member of the area he moved into. He had a friend coming over, there were loud voices, Snoop Dogg heard them and at the time he was living with his cousin, Daz. Then Snoop Dogg went down there to see what was happening, Snoop's body guard, Malik, would push him back. They would later forget the incident and later go to the recording studio. Snoop Dogg was driving around a park when he was flagged down by the people who he had a confrontation with. When out of nowhere this crazy guy named Phillip Woldemariam was coming towards Snoop Dogg with his own gun. Snoop's bodyguard got into the firing position and would fire three shots towards Phillip. This would send Snoop Dogg into three years of trials. During that era he made his second LP named "Tha Doggfather" and a CD with his group DPG "Dogg Food". He would later be sent to trial, be acquitted of charges, and sent on his way.
He would then build a friendship with Tupac and when he got locked up, he had Suge bail him out, and sign him to Deathrow. 2pac would later die and Dre would have already left. So Snoop realised that he would leave too to join No Limit and his contract was sold to Master P. He would then release his CD "Tha Last Meal" and the story goes on......
