Top Ten Reasons To Hate Sony (ONLY 10 We Had More) 1. Loading Times Like I said in the other feature, loading times are every gamers worst nightmare, and playing Playstation is were this nightmare starts. If you are looking to get stuck into a game of Driver or Smackdown 2, then you'll be disappointed. There are heaps of other screens, and it takes about 80 seconds to get to the main menu. I never had to wait that long on my N64. 2. Multiplayer Playing multiplayer on Sony ain't no were near as good as playing 4 player on N64. You can only play 2 player, and even with the multi-tap, I haven't seen one good game to use this feature. 3. Games There have been hardly any good games to be released on the PS2. Some may argue and say Gran Turismo 3. From what I've heard though, it's just a graphical upgrade over GT2, and some people think that GT2 is still better. 4. No Experience Sony may have got lucky the first time, but the second time around they have disappointed a lot of their fans. Firstly, the decided to sell the Sony at $750(AUS) and this has put many off the system. Then they just bombarded the market with games that were made to show off the PS2's graphical abilities, and not gameplay, and that may explain Sony's lackluster software sales. And probably the main problem is the difficulty to develop games on the system. It has been so difficult that many developers have stopped making games halfway through the games development. 5. No Good Characters Playstation has no exclusive characters that have starred in hit game after hit game. You could say Crash Bandicoot, but he's gayer than Elton John. And you can't really say the Crash Bandicoot games were hits, except for the PS2 title. 6. Burning Games Sony fans may say that its great to be able to burn games, but they are the ones that lose. If people keep burning games, then Sony loses more money, so they can't pay developers to make better games. 7. Bad Controllers You only have to look at one to see this. Sony didn't even have the brainpower to think up a new design for their controller, so fans had to play with the same controller. The only difference in the design was the colour. Very creative!! 8. Graphics over Gameplay Sony is evidently more concerned about the graphics for the PS2 than the gameplay. What point is there of having a good looking game, but shit gameplay and mechanics. I can tell you gameplay is more important than graphics, and Nintendo knows this. 9. No Rareware How can a console be successful if they don't have good developers? Sony hasn't got a company like Rareware, and never will, so it isn't looking good for Sony in terms of developers. 10. Unrequired Add-Ons Sony fans will argue that the DVD player is great to have. But if you already had a DVD player, then why do you want another. If Sony made a version on the PS2 without the DVD the they'd find sales would improve. Nintendo have seen Sony's mistake, and are releasing a version of the Gamecube without the DVD, and Panasonic signed a deal with Nintendo to release a version of the Gamecube with a DVD player built in. The Nintendo legends have done it again. |
