Thursday, February 17, 2005Good grief, it's been a long time since I've touched this site at all. Well, that's going to change, I figure. Now that I actually have a real-life skill other than writing (which is probably, hopefully not but probably, subject to intellectual theft if someone finds this site). In other words: I'm knitting like crazy now. And I'd like to start on a little site-let that has pictures of my knitting. So to start, my idea is to put up a suggested product line and to get some ideas on it. For one thing, I want to know if the site should be called Raspberries Anonymous like this one, or if it should be called Amber and Almond, or what. Then I want to find out what kinds of things people would actually buy out of what I can make. Like right now I can do: hats, fingerless gloves, plain scarves, lace-knit scarves, and I'm working on a really long, really difficult tunic and an easier (but still somewhat difficult) tank top. I'm trying to keep all the pictures on one photobucket account, but I'm thinking of getting my own domain name. That'd mean, of course, that I have to pick a name for the site first. And of course, I'd host my friend Loki's knitted vaginas, which are some of the coolest (obviously feminist) pins ever. Eh. We'll see. It may end up being a pipe dream, but maybe not.
Tuesday, November 26, 2002Character Art page added and separated from the Gallery, and so were a whole freaking lot of pictures. Not that I'm done. Not by a long shot.
Monday, November 25, 2002Seems like I've been getting a lot done lately, though there's still much to do. I've put up links including buttons, added the Fanart page, and hopefully someone shall take pity on poor Rae and love her enough to contribute. I've also started the initial work on the main The U page, though that'll take some time, as I want it to be spiffy. Added the disclaimer with contact information. Straightened things up some. Added meta tags. Annoyed people about linking to my page, and going to see it, and stuff. Oh, and I got rid of the damned counter, replaced it one of them geocities stat report buttons. Much smaller, at least. I'd like to section off the Gallery into personal pictures and art. Keep the link to Fanart on the main site, since that can be a more attractive name. You know. Like, "Hey, this chick actually has fans? Nifty!" Well. Maybe not.I'd like to do some kind of research on a nice table format, so that you can click on a link and just have it pop up in a window in the index. That'd take a lot of research, is all. I may end up asking friends, if I really need any sort of stuff. People like Josh keep suggesting I try to find a banner-less page, so that I can get greymatter and make things look spiffy, but really... well, I'm fine where I am. If I get more than one thing published (as opposed, like now, to nothing), then I'll buy an official site, since people might be looking for me in the future. Since I'm going to be famous and all. But I'm fine for now.
Saturday, November 23, 2002Okay, I've got all of my completed stories to date up there... well, almost all. Just all the ones I would actually want people to read. Added that little handy-dandy copyright thing. Fiddled around with the format thingie. I'm happy. My page looks good. If you don't think so, email me.Now, to work on getting fans... muahahahahaha!
Friday, November 22, 2002So! I've actually made all of those unreadable stories into something worth looking at. They're all html-prettyfied. And! I'm working on other stuff. Sooner or later, my Joshie has claimed that he will give me a nice handydandy format for the index page. Oh, yeah, and I added the background image and the links button. It's cool.Maybe one day I'll have fans... even a fanclub... one divine day... ::sniff!::
Saturday, October 26, 2002I know, I haven't touched this page in a million and a half years. Er. Well. Well over a year. Guess I've been too busy or too lazy, or both at the same time, which is more likely. I don't know that I'll get muchdone tonight, but I'll attempt to add a few more complete short stories and add a link to my livejournal, since that's easier to update than all this. And a link to Alex's page. Maybe. We'll see. If there isn't an update to this update, I probably haven't done much, and probably won't.So, wow, I actually did stuff. Added a few stories, a few links, got linked back to my livejournal and Alex's page. Need to make the stories html-worthy, but I'll to that eventually, perhaps. We shall see.
Saturday, July 14, 2001All right, a few more things got done yesterday, but I was too tired by the time I was done to actually put in the updates. I'm on an Oingo Boingo kick, just thought you should know that. But at any rate, I'm done with the Q.E., and all of the online jornal entries that I've ever made are now mushed into Geocities. I also got up one of my poems and a short story, so today I figure I'll start working on an actual literary page. I'm thinking of just going with the layout that I'd been using on the old rasp. anon., complete with prettypretty fairy graphics. I don't think that Clipart Castle is a working site anymore, but if I have a chance to, I'll check. Or you can check, because I'll probably forget. So many great graphics that may now be gone... le sigh. A waste. But anyway, things are going all right so far. I like my layout, and once everything's done, it'll get even better. I'll even make some new! and interesting! graphics for ya. And I'm thinking of making a page just dedicated to my favorite song lyrics, though those never really have the same kick as the song... eh. I dunno. I'm tired and ranting and waiting for my grandmother to call so that I can go over there to give her her birthday present, and probably to get bitched at some for not being perfect. But all right, a recap: I have lots of web pages up now. Next come the literary pages, first poems, then something more navigable. For now, Hail and Farewell.
Thursday, July 12, 2001Today the page hath been created! Well, not created, per se, but... well, yes, created. I made the site using the Geocities server (since Angelfire is so... froot-loopy, what with its pop-up ads), and made the Gallery page, using only html instead of Netscape Composer's strange fickle code that simply isn't simple enough for everyday use. Oh, I'm still using Composer to move things right along, but I'm editing everything so that whatever codes I need, *I* type them in, instead of uploading every few minutes. It's much simpler, and I can worry less about editing later, this way. Plus it should be easier to load.At any rate, here's my tentative plan so far: a page or so a day. The gallery page came out rather nicely, and the updates page, though sometimes unnecessary, is right here for the browsing. I'm going to wait on an index page, since as yet I don't know what exactly I'm going for: I could completely recreate the old raspberries anonymous page, or I could go with something new. I don't know yet.
I figure that I'm going to put up my Old Faithfuls, though. The Questionable Establishment (Q.E.), my open-to-all online diary; my literary page; a links page. Maybe I'll even put up a sort of dedication page, to so'n'so (Ilikeyou). I'm concentrating on decent page content before going towards anything pretty, so it's all simple now. Very simple.
