Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was......
Chapter 16: Happy (?) Reunion

Old friends are always there to lean on in when you are in need of help.

I sat down on my bed, feeling the full impact of the guilt and sadness hitting me like a ton of bricks. The tears started flowing, and I couldn't stop them. What had I *done*? Now he was coming for Goku, my best friend I ever had. And it was all my fault...

"Rock, paper, scissors!" Goku and I chanted as we performed the common children's way of deciding who gets to go first.

"Yeah! I won, I won! Hahahahah!" Goku cheered, throwing his fists up into the air. I ducked, he was a lot stronger than me, and I had to be careful when he lost control of his emotions. But I laughed when he was done.

"Okay, okay! I go first..." I admitted, and got up. "But if I get hurt, Daddy's gonna kill you!" I warned.

Goku laughed and nodded to the large tree behind us. An un-sturdy looking treehouse was nested between two thick brances, near the top. I sighed and started to climb up the footholds to the top. Of course, *I* was the unlucky one to test it's sturdiness! But I climbed on, anxious to get this over with.

I soon reached the treehouse, and I took a deep breath before I pulled myself through the small door. The house didn't shake or anything!

I stuck my head out one of the windows and smiled down at Goku. "It's perfect!" I called, and Goku flew up to join me.

I sat up after my little memory. I had to be strong for Goku. I had to figure out a way! Frieza wanted me to get Goku to come to the ship without suspicion. I had sadly agreed, not really planning on doing it. I would rather be chased by Frieza for the rest of my life than give up Goku!

I sprang out of bed, filled with a new form of hope. I had something, or someone, to be strong for again. The feeling revived me, and I dashed over to the window.

The view of Earth was stunning. The planet was made up of the purest blues and greens I had ever seen. I could see my happy reflection in the window, and my eyes were sparkling.

The ship was traveling at a very high speed, more than twice the speed of the ship that had brought me to Vegetasei all those years ago. Soon I would be able to help Goku, and maybe escape myself. I could just hope that Frieza wouldn't suspect me for anything.

I heard a knock on my door. I, naturally, ran over to the door and opened it cautiously. A Saiyan guard was at the door, waiting impatiently.

"Yes?" I asked, only opening the door halfway.

"Umm. . . Lord Frieza has sent word to prepare yourself for landing, and bring supplies. You know, clothes and such," He nervously said, and turned back down the hall. Now why would he be scared of me? I had to ask myself. I rolled my eyes and went to get ready, as fast as I could.

I ended up wearing a pale blue minidress, one with a bare back and spaghetti straps. It barely made it down to my knees, and set off my hair and pale skin nicely. I wore the small pendant that I had had when I first came to Vegetasei, and my hair was down and straightened. My makeup matched all the shades in my dress. I had on white strappy shoes with large heels.

I looked fine, just fine. I smiled at my reflection, grabbed my two bags of clothes and the small white backpack I had aquired, that was filled with small things I would need, and set out into the hallways. My heels echoed off the hard floors pleasantly. I walked quicker as I got closer, for I was anxious to get to Earth and Goku as fast as I could.

The doors to the control center opened before I got there. Frieza was waiting, in battle armor, a strange kind that I didn't recognize. I smiled at him and he smirked back.

"We will be landing in approximitly five minutes. I found it fit to have you prepared, as it may take more time for you to convince your friend to follow," He said coldly, and gestured to a large window. I followed him over.

We were entering the atmosphere, and I could see the blue oceans and green landforms below. It filled me with a sense of joy, sadness, and homesickness. Soon *I* would be home. Or at least as close as I could get, without digging through the ashes of my past.

The ship came close to land, and the supports came out for landing. I could see the large forest that surrounded the area around Goku's house, and what was left of Capsule Corps. I could see the ruin which it used to be, and it brought tears to my eyes. This was *home*, this place of ruin and debris. My whole past was destroyed, basically. I couldn't see how there could possibly be any survivors, even if I didn't know what had become of my mother. Good sense told me she was dead.

The tears flowed freely, and the ship landed. The exit dropped to the earth, and I could smell the fresh air, something I hadn't breathed in forever. I bolted off the ship and sniffed the air, throwing my arms up and turning around for a minute. Birds, yes, real birds were chirping, and I smiled, taking it all in.

But I was not here to enjoy the scenery. I was here to warn Goku. I shot a glance at Frieza, who nodded, and ran as fast as I could for Goku's house, panting the whole way.

I arrived at his house ten minutes later, my feet aching horribly. I was too excited to care now. I remembered everything about his house perfectly, right down to the last brick in his pathway.

I grinned and ran up to his doorstep and knocked hard. I heard voices and footsteps. I nearly fainted when Goku came to the door. He looked so much. . . older! I felt some tears slide down my cheeks, and I smiled and let them run down.

"Who are you?" He asked cautiously. "Why are you here. . . oh! Oh dear Kami! Bulma! That can't be *you*!" He yelled, and pulled me into a big bear hug.

I was sobbing wildly when he did so. He was really tall, so I had to stand on tiptoe to hug him.

"Oh, Goku! I have missed you so much!" I exclaimed.

"Me, too. You are still my very best friend you know! I still love you," He said, grinning.

I was about to grin back when a strange woman came up behind Goku. She was holding a frying pan, and looked ready to strike.

"Goku! Who is this woman? What are you *doing*?!" She demanded. She had black hair and was wearing conservative clothes. I backed up and stopped hugging Goku.

"Umm. . . Chichi, this is my friend, Bulma. The one I told you about, the one from Vegetasei? Well, she is back," Goku explained feebly.

The woman, Chichi, looked slightly suspicious. "What do you want?" She asked.

"Nothing but to see my best friend again, Chichi," I said gently, shooting a fond look at Goku, who looked scared.

"I am Goku's *wife*, I should know these things! Goku, why didn't you tell me she was coming??" Chichi demanded, frying pan ready.

I stopped and froze.

Wait a minute. . .

Wife?

~*~

Ohhhhh cliffhanger!! What do you all think? Did you like the fact that Chichi is here now? What do you think should happen? Ja ne for now,
