Bulma's Life.....Like It Is! And What It Once Was......
Chapter 37: Ice Princess

The best way to get a guy is to....ignore him?

I walked slowly back from the beach in front of the club, keeping to the beaches, as the club wasn't far from the apartment complex. Eventually all the stars came out, and they twinkled, the reflections on the ocean sparkling. The moon was full, providing a lot of light. I smiled up at the sky, feeling truely relaxed.

I arrived at the apartment building and sighed. I wished that I could just walk the whole coast of Flordia, until my legs gave out. I turned up the sidewalk leading to the buildings and entered reluctantly.

The lights were on in the apartment, and Lela was waiting for me when I opened the door, hands on hips, resembling Chichi in a way. I sighed and shook my head.

"Listen, Lela. I don't need this right now," I said tiredly, and kicked off my shoes. She glared me down as I walked to my room slowly.

Vegeta's room was right across the hall from mine, and I could hear rap music coming from the radio Lela had gotten. That was the kind of stuff he listened to when he was angry. I didn't blame him. I looked in his room, and saw him sleeping, looking angry even then.

His window had the best view of all of us. On one of his walls was a set of French doors leading to a walk out balcony. He had fighted with me for this room, but he had won, no surprise. I entered his room cautiously, and flipped off the radio. I walked out to his balcony and leaned on the rail. The ocean rolled below, and some sea gulls called. They never stopped, not even at night. I smiled at their annoyance and looked further out to sea.

I then saw something I had never noticed. A small island covered with palm trees sat out there, nearly surrounded by a coral reef, explaining it's untouched looks. I leaned further over to see it beter, and nearly fell off when someone opened the doors behind me.

"What are *you* doing here?" Vegeta demanded, crossing his arms in his classic stance.

I avoided his look and a question came to mind. "Is that where you go every day?" I asked.

He came over next to me and saw where I was looking. He nodded and pointed to the coral reef. "That," He said, "Is the reason why I go there. No one can make it there, so no bakayaro idiot humans can bother me any more than they already do."

I rolled my eyes and realized that the stupid rap music was back on. "Why do you *listen* to that shit?" I asked, and glared at him.

"It is better to hear humans talking then singing and bitching with their sickening voices."

"Well, *sorry*! I am sorry I asked."

"Anytime." I did not miss the sarcastic tone of voice.

"Are you ever going to go back to Vegetasei?"

He was silent for a long time. "Yes. I just need to take care of things first. It is going to take forever to gain back what I have lost. Especially if I am going to claim this stupid planet for the Saiyan Empire."

I turned to him and looked him in the eyes, to see if he spoke the truth. He was. I let my mouth drop open and my eyes get angry. "Just leave it be!" I said, a little loudly, and he winced.

"Why *should* I?" He asked, challenging me.

"Because-because...because I like it here! It is my home, and I won't see it turn into a second Vegetasei! Haven't my people experienced *enough* pain?!"

"No, not nearly. Besides, *you* aren't off the hook. Frieza is after you, I can feel him coming closer and closer to discovering us all."

I looked at him seriously. "Really? What are we going to do?"

"Not sit here like sitting ducks, if I can help it. I am going to take off soon, staying here is foolish at this point."

"And what about Lela and I?" I asked, hands on hips.

"You are welcome to come, but that loud-mouthed traitor *isn't*. Frieza can finish the fat woman for all I care!"

I stared at him in shock. "Don't say that! She is *not* fat! Just a little chubby, and it is cute on her! You are such an ass!" I turned to go.

Vegeta grabbed my arm, stopping me. "You don't really think that."

I stared at him, shocked. "How do you know?" I asked.

"Because I am not a baka, anyone could see right through you. What has your friend been telling you, fool?"

I couldn't believe it. Was he accusing me of liking him?? I shook my head and tried to pull out of his grasp.

He held me tighter, and I knew I couldn't get away. "Let me go!" I said, and pulled harder.

"Admit it, baka," He said, and my arm began to ache.

I cried out in pain and I heard noises from inside the apartment. Lela!

"Lela! Out here!" I called, and she came out.

Her eyes blazed and she glared at Vegeta. "You are so arrogant! How dare you call me fat??" She screamed. "Frieza is closer than you might think!"

I stared at her in shock, not believing my ears. Could it be...? Vegeta was surprised to, because he pulled me back beside him and got into a fighting stance. Oh, no! I was in no position to help, having my binding dress on and all!

"I knew it! Traitor!" Vegeta accused, and prepared to strike her, but was interuppted by the worst thing possible.

"Awww....you two make such a good couple!" Frieza cooed, and I looked up on the roof. He was stretched out, legs in front, hands behind his head. "Good job, little Lela, you may leave, you might not want to see this."

I gasped and glared at Lela. "You little bitch!" I screamed, and charged at her. She fell to the ground when I knocked her over, and I scratched at her stupid little face with my nails.

Vegeta saw us go down, fighting, and his mouth hung open at my bold temper. This drove me on, and I began hitting the little betrayer harder, causing her to scream in pain. I would cave her face in!!!

Frieza laughed his cold laugh, and both me and Lela stopped. I stood up, pulled down, my dress, and lifted my chin.

"Bulma, you always were a brave girl. I am surprised at your sudden behavior. Your temper is hideous," He said, and glared down at me. "But you got away, and I don't tolerate runaways."

Vegeta growled, tail whipping back and forth.

"Well, well, well. Look what I have found. King Vegeta has a weakness! Well, I can take care of that little flaw for you," He said, and motioned to Lela.

I looked over at her, and she pushed me with all her strength to the edge of the balcony, trying to lift me up and over. I screamed and kicked out at her, but she held onto my throat tightly, laughing and crying at the same time. I felt myself slide over a little more, and my upper body was hanging over. The balcony was about a hundred feet above the ocean, not good news for me.

Vegeta growled and charged towards Lela, knocking her over, and I fell back onto the floor, panting and holding my throat, which felt as if it were on fire.

"This is my fight, not hers, so take it up with me, you fool," He spat, and Frieza floated down.

"No, it really is my choice to take it up with Ms. Briefs, she is *mine*, and you were just a vistor," He said, and picked me up. I screamed and beat on his back, to no prevail.

Vegeta growled and was about to attack, but Frieza lifted off into the sky, me screaming the whole way.
